Senior Revenue Accountant

Contract role up to 12 months with possibility for extension

Reason for Opening: Additional resources are needed to help with day-to-day tasks as we transition into NetSuite.

Position Overview: This role will be responsible for two key areas: Supply Chain (Product revenue) and our brand Carvel (Ice cream). It is a highly transactional role requiring meticulous attention to details, a self-starter and ability to operate under high pressure and tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Distributor Reports: Reconcile to the appropriate payments and collaborate with the supply chain team if discrepancies arise from distributor charges.
• Monthly Accrual Management: Handle all monthly accruals for Supply Chain from FP&A
• Supplier Billing: Manage billing for all suppliers in supply chain.
• Accounts Receivable (AR) Close: Ensure all monthly receivables activities are completed before AR close for both Carvel and Product revenue.
• Review revenue contracts for compliance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy, ASC 606 and internal controls, bring forward any concerns and recommendations
• Lead monthly P&L meetings: Review the P&L its support and ensure it ties out and ensure it is accurate.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review and approve the work of AR specialists and staff accountants.
• Collections: Apply all payments received against outstanding open invoices, and work with the supply chain, franchisees and suppliers to request outstanding payments. Send collection reports to all stakeholders within the company.
• Monthly Close Process: Manage the monthly close process for Supply Chain and Carvel, including independently owning journal entries, accruals, Flux analysis at month end close related to accounts receivables, revenue and Deferred revenue and provide meaningful explanation for fluctuation within such accounts.
• Reporting: Prepare and distribute all required reports to senior leadership. • Perform medium to complex revenue reconciliation for the two brands • Annual Tasks: Complete annual tasks as assigned.
• NetSuite Implementation: Assist with NetSuite implementation, including testing and managing before and after close business processes.
• Audit Requests: Help with audit requests by providing documentation and explanations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Drive to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process and help streamline procedures and improve system efficiencies

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and excellent communication skills
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• 4+ years’ experience with ASC 606
• NetSuite Experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• Advanced Excel skills
