Senior Accountant Financial Reporting

Senior Accountant needed by National Insurance Company recognized for superior customer service. This Senior Accountant will have a variety of accounting duties in the Finance Department and work with a fun professional team. This Senior Accountant reports directly to the Financial Reporting Manager, will interact with upper management while receiving great professional development in both insurance accounting and financial reporting. 

Senior Accountant duties will include:

• Assisting in preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements
• Preparing month-end journal entries including supporting worksheets and account reconciliations
• Handling Variance Analysis
• Assisting in preparation of internal reporting packages
• Working on special projects and/or requests from management

Required:

• BS/BA degree in Accounting
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Staff Accountant 
• Property & Casualty insurance industry experience preferred
• Public accounting experience a plus
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Financial Reporting experience a must
• Experience with Great Plains software a plus
