Senior Accountant – $65,000 – $75,000 – Fully Remote Position

Accountants One has been hired by a leader in cutting edge technology that helps veterans with PTSD to recruit a Senior Accountant to add to their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience processing Financial Analysis & Reporting, Month-End Close and can hit deadlines in a fast moving environment.

Duties:

  • Month-End Close – 30%, Internal Customer Serivce with divisions across U.S. – 25%, Weekly Reporting on Fiscal Sponsorships – Budget to Actual 45%
  • Manage mailbox and enter invoices to Bill.com daily
  • Upload income to QuickBooks from Stripe, PayPal, BluePay, Charles Schwab, Cryptocurrency and Bank of America on a Daily Basis
  • Sync Bill.com with QuickBooks daily
  • Record credit card transactions in QB weekly
  • Ensure all sources of expenses are accurately coded in QuickBooks on a daily basis
  • Work with A/R and Development teams to disbure and record refunds when requested
  • Reconcile Bill.com aging A/P summary against QB revenue totals every month
  • Make sure bills are aged less than 31 days
  • Help with vendor and expense analysis
  • Help with month-end and year-end close

Other Accounting Duties

  • Assist with accounting cleanup projects
  • Book intra-company transactions on a weekly basis
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Provide fiscal sponsorship disbursements, reconciliations, and reports on a weekly basis
  • Assist with grant accounting
  • Assist with annual audit, assist with 990 reporting, filing of tax returns and filing of other government compliance documents
  • Assist with accounting software conversion project
  • Conduct financial analysis and other ad hoc reporting upon request
  • Provide coverage of accounts payable and payroll duties in the event of vacations or sick leaves

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with subsidiaries to assist with booking of intra-company transactions
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding of expenses by class, location, project and fund.
  • Collaborate with all members of the accounting team in a manner that is collegial, effective and promotes a positive, friendly culture
  • Assist with annual audit, assist with 990 reporting, filing of tax returns and filing of other government compliance documents
  • Provide coverage of accounts receivable and payroll duties in the event of vacations or sick leaves

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience (at least 2 years in nonprofit)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision
  • Grace and sense of humor under pressure
  • Experience in using:
    • Microsoft Office
    • Bill.com
    • Asana
    • CRMs
    • QuickBooks
    • Slack
    • SharePoint
